TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Voters in the city of Tuscaloosa are deciding whether to legalize alcohol sales on Sundays.
Alcohol sales would be allowed between noon and 9:30 p.m. on Sundays if residents approve the measure in balloting on Tuesday.
Officials say there was an increase in voter registration leading up to the vote, but Mayor Walt Maddox says he doesn't expect a large turnout for the referendum.
Tuscaloosa is the largest city in the state that doesn't allow Sunday alcohol sales.
