Illegal Hunting

Conservations officers in Tuscaloosa County found the bodies of seven dead deer lying beside a rural road.  Several of the animals had been decapitated.  But meat on all of the carcasses were left unmutilated.  Conservation officer Lt. Todd Draper says the crime is being investigated as a criminal littering case right now, but he says the charges could escalate.  Especially if the animals were killed by hunters spotlighting, trespassing, or shooting on a road.

Draper believes the deer were killed for their antlers.  The news makes hunters, like Mark Whitlock, mad.

But the incident in Tuscaloosa wasn't the only issue.  In Greene County, an immature bald eagle was found sufferering from a gunshot wound.  The eagle was taken to the Alabama Wildlife Rehab Center at Oak Mountain State Park.
