Alagasco Worker Shot On The Job

A Birmingham community fears for their safety after a worker with Alagasco Gas Company was shot in broad daylight.
 
Authorities say the worker was doing his assigned duties in the Kingston community, when a man wearing a ski mask approached him with a gun, intending to rob him.
 
It all happened in the 4600 Block of Roscoe Avenue near a vacant housing building. Investigators say the suspect shot the worker in the abdomen just before fleeing the scene. Neighbors in the community found the news disturbing.

The worker was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect is still on the run.
